Hallo,
isch habe noch keinen ausgeliterten Durchfall .... Clemens, haste nix zu arbeiten?
Bin auch nicht ueberfallen worden, Ueberlege nur wie noch ein PS finde, um diese R27 Fahrer zu vermoebeln.....
Wenn ich die Absage zur
Milano-Taranto frueher erhalten haette, waere Urlaubsaenderung in den August noch moeglich gewesen. Und dann waere ich mitgefahren Jetzt habe ich mitte Oktober 14 Tage Urlaub....

Generally I would prefer to avoid Motorways wherever possible, single track roads are best (although one has to keep in mind that a lot of blimmin tourists will be around at that time so passing places might offer an additional element of adventure)...but that's only my personal opinion...we will see what the rest of the group thinks about that.

Here are a few photos of our trip to the Highland region of Scotland. We covered 900 miles in 3 days travelling there and back, but not on 'Lottie' though.

Yes that's right, the sun was shining every day !
Also there are plenty of newer petrol stations.
The photos were taken on a round trip of 150 miles past Loch Shin, Scourie, Loch Oykel, Bonar Bridge and Dornoch.

Hello Will.

Thanks for sharing these pictures with us...and I can confirm that contrary to common believe the sun is shining in Alba..I have spent a fortnight there back in the summer of 2007 and we had precisely two days of rain...one on a camping ground in Port Righ where the rain came with a proper side order of storm that killed our tent at 5am and the other raining day was the day of the Beat the Drum open air in Drumnadrochit on the banks of Loch Ness...but we enjoyed the show anyway.

I am really looking forward to our visit...during the Edersee meeting we will discuss minor issues like route and where to stay, as soon as we have some substantial decisions here I will let you know so we can do some planning re. where and how to meet you.

Alles eine Frage der Routenplanung!
Ich habe heute einen Entwurf für die Route fertiggemacht den ich Euch (Dir, Rudi und Will) zukommen lassen möchte. Ich allerdings etwas größer geworden.
Schick mir bitte eine PN mit einer Mailadresse an die ich die Datei senden kann. Ihr könnt Euch meinen Entwurf dann vor dem Ederseetreffen anschauen und Eure Kritik (durchaus positv gemeint) vorbereiten.

Wir sollten uns am See Gedanken machen, wer welche Ersatzteile mitnimmt, damit die technischen Halte (so sie denn überhaupt auftreten) nicht unnötig lange werden...auch die spektakulärste Landschaft verliert an Reiz, wenn man sie stundenlang immer von der gleichen Stelle aus durch den Rahmen hindurch anschauen muß...

Motor R25/0 modifiziert (el. Regler, el. Zündung, Kolben, Kettenrad, ...)
Vergaser R25/2
Räder R25/0 und R25/3

Naja, ein Mix halt. Aber das kriegen wir!

Hello all,
I am in Scotland again this week and the weather is wet and very windy (200 kph is windy  ), it will be much better in August.
There are fallen trees, power cables broken, no television and some ferry sailings have stopped.
Otherwise it's OK and the whiskey is good if you have enough.



PS. I am on a coach !

In "William Wallace" we have learnt that it's good weather if the rain ist falling almost straight...but it sounds like a brilliant idea to watch it from the inside of a coach (compared to the saddle of a bike).

Hello Taz and friends,
Today in Tobermory it was not so good. Meals are not served till 12.30 (when are on our way again), very very wet and the coach was stranded without diesel 50 kms from the hotel on a single track road for 2 hours without a cell phone signal.
Today the bike would have been better ?
Now we are back at the hotel, with food and drink.

Just a short update on the current status. We decided to just explore the Lowlands this year as the time we can spend in Alba is rather limited and doing a larger round-trip would result in just racing across the landscape-which is not what we have in mind.

As soon as we will have a more precise route planning done we will post it here so we can get your valuable input as well.

Thank you for the update.
Your revised route will be more enjoyable instead of of trying to explore all Scotland in a short time. On our trip to Dornoch in May we covered 585 km on the first day with only 2 stops, but that was on a modern, larger motorcycle and we were not sightseeing. 
Leaving out the trip to Thurso will give you more time to explore the West coast.

I just did a quick test today re. who's wheatherproof and who isn't...after half an hour in the middle of a "Kittelwascher" (Frankonian understatement for "raining Maine Coons and Irish Wolfhounds") the results are:
Bärbel: completely and utterly unimpressed
Driver: wet to the bone
