Vielen Dank, Karl. Hätte ich sonst gar nicht mitgekriegt. Mein letztes Heft ist von 2015. Zeit für ein Update?

194 GMO is a UK Registration Number given to the BMW R5 in Feb 1983 , the declared year of manufacture is 1936, and not registered for the road since 1st July 2013. It could be an import.
Note it has chrome rims. as far as can be known, 67 models of the R5 were sold in Britain, 4 being the R5 S

I have very comprehensive information on all these, and other Pre 1939 BMW's . from the R20, R23 - R71. in totoal 223 units

As far as I know, R5.S model had engine , piston ? improvements to 'up' the power, there was also an R51S. They were listed by AFN Ltd ( the UK Importer 1935 -63 ) who made and sold (Frazer Nash BMW) Cars.

I was in 2016 in contact with a Gentleman in Britain who actually owns a Genuine R5 Special, sold by AFN Ltd in the time frame , May - September 1937.

I also have   4 x R51S or 'SS', as the case may be, but Herr Fred Jakobs. of BMW Archive told me to be 'very careful' These are easily 'faked' and BMW will not release the Vin numbers allocated, unless, the owner has positive photographic proof .

It is the same with the R68, BMW will not reveal the 'extra' numbers stamped upon the crankcase without photographic evidence . I visited some one last year, 'at a distance' and in a mask, who has a Genuine R68. This machine was 'guaranteed' to give 100 mph. , as sold .
