Hi all
Not posted for a while but now I am starting to assemble my R26 project I need a bit of information.
Among many other jobs, I am selecting parts for the front and rear suspension and what I would like to find out is the following;
The free spring length for the front and rear suspension springs
also
the rating, pound per inch or kg per cm for the compression
Thanks in advance
Brian
Hi Brian,
you will find the values in the Service Manual (http://www.bmw-einzylinder.de/Start/tips/handbuecher/anleitung/r26_27-reparatur.pdf).
Pages 26 and 27.
Thanks Rütz
found it.
mmm, i had troubles with my suspension too.
the length was ok but the "juice" was gone.
i bought 4 new ones for 17,50 eur each.
i makes a world of difference for a motor so old :)
.
Thanks Misah
I will use the ones I have for the time being but I may well do as you have done.
I am still waiting for many of the smaller parts to come back from powder coating at the moment so am busy with other jobs at the moment like rebuilding the wheels.
Thanks Brian
