Hello,
I have a problem with the oil level dipstick on my R27. The dipstick does not screw in to the crankcase - it just drops in without holding. The dipstick from my R25/3 does not fit either.
My question is - are the dipsticks for the R25 a smaller thread diameter than the thread on an R27 oil level dipstick?
I notice that the oil pump slotted tops are a different size to each other with the R27 (Vin No. 380533) being larger.
Many thanks if you can assist.
The diameter for the Oil dipsticks are the same....for the oil pump differs ....at the end of 52 the gets larger
Hi Will,
the thread should measure: 26 x 1,5 mm
For both R25/3 and R27.

Thank you for the measurements Rutz. The threads on the dipstick are completely stripped off and I need a new one. I hope the thread in the crankcase is good enough. Now I have an accurate measurement I can check it tomorrow.
The "fully restored" :o machine has many faults and is not as good as it first appeared to be.
