Hello all,

How can I tell if I have a R26 or R27 connecting rod?  I think one is longer than the other but do not know which is which.

Thanks!!

Sorry, 175 mm are the plunger rods
Du bist im Recht; nun sieh zu, wie du da wieder heraus kommst. (v. Chamisso)

Hello.

For comparing parts and finding out which model they belong to it pays to have a look at http://monos.r25-bike.de/#EN

Kind regards, Taz

Thank you all!!!  That is a great link to a great resource, thank you!

After measuring I have found that I have a R26 connecting rod on my R27 crank. It seems like this will work and I will just need to purchase an R26 piston. Is there a downside to this?  Should I spend the extra money to get the R27 rod?

The crank is freshly rebuilt, they just put the wrong rod on it.

Any feedback is appreciated!!!

Using R26 piston will result in R26 compression, though.
With R26 conrod in R27 you usually use the R50S piston, which results in nearly original compression ratio.

This was a common conversion in 80/90's, when the rarer R27 parts were "unobtainables".

It is since then in my R27 too.
