Hello

I have expirenced that my clutch do not work probely. I am interrested in knowing how much I must tighten the bolts on the clutch plate. Is that not important ?

Did they become loose?
I would use Loctite "Schraubensicherung" then.
The standart torque for M6 bolts is quite low.

What is the problem with your clutch exactly?
And (important ;D) which kind of clutch is it (R25, R25/3, R26/27,...)?

Hello again.

No the bolts are not loose, but the must be tightened with * NM I think.
My problem is that the rear end of the clutch is out off the motor. My bike is a BMW r25/3

Heiko

Hi,

have you mounted the clutch correct as shown in the maintenance manual or in the spare part list? Btw. the normal torque for M 6 bolts is 11,3 Nm. There are many lists in the www.

Zitat..that the rear end of the clutch is out off the motor..
:Frage:
Did the flywheel become loose?
Or do you mean, that the clutch ring is bent outward?

Hello.

It is not the plate that is too big. It is the rear end, where the clutch comes out of the motor.
The rear bearing is 5mm out of the motor.

Heiko

Jesper, a few pictures would be fine.

Hello

I have seen this subject at a Danish BMW-forum from Jesper and I will post a picture on Jespers behaulf, so you can see what the problem is.

The arrow indicates the problem:  That "thing" isn´t like on the picture, but is about 1/2 cm out off the gearbox.

My guess is that the gearbox has been assembled incorrect..

Oha,
praise the lord for pictures!!
Not the clutch is the problem, it is the clutch-lever (?? help, i don't know the english word for "Druckstange").
Jesper, it is too long, there a several  types of the "Druckstange", you will have a wrong (too long) type.
What Type has you taken? With a bearingball? 2 Pieces? Square end or Konic end...and so on.
Greetings Rolf

Hello

The only part that I have replaced in the clutch is the "Druckstüc" I think that it is the same size as the old one. I have also mounted the clutch with a 5 mm. ball. Could this be the problem ?

rolf

Jesper Mikkelsen

Hello Rolf

What do you mean " Yes " ?

sjeuf12

Jesper,
"druckstuck" + 5 mm ball pushes the bearing 5 mm out of the gearbox housing (=ball thickness)
Try it without the ball or use a smaller "druckstuck"
(what is that word in english...???)

"presssurething"? ;D

Jesper, you say " the only thing I replaced was the Druckstück, could it be the probelm?" (+ " I think (!!!) it was the same)
My answer was "yes"
What do you think I mean with "yes"  ;) ?

I think you could call it Pushrod

Hi Jesper,

there is another thing that might be the reason for a "too long" pushrod:

The end of the shaft is 4-cornered and may not be in
proper position in the sqare shaped hole of the pressureplate.

Try to rotate the pushrod by using a screwdriver ...
(the engine is out of the frame ? )

 ::)Hello

I found that the problem was the rear end of the pushrod. It was not the right. It was 5 mm too long. It was a new part that i had bought, but this was not the right one. Watch out for Stemler.
