Hello everyone.

When my R25/3 gets warm the ignition fails a lot when I stop for a traffic light. It doesn´t do it when I´m driving.
The engine doesn´t stop completely, but it sounds like the engine is going to stop.

What is the problem?

-is it the ignition coil and why is it only a problem when the engine is warm??

Hallo Bjarke,

it is typical for ignition coils, that they fail only when hot (the insulation becomes conduktive). But they will do it on higher revs first and idle will be the very last condition, in which you notice failures.

In your case i would suspect a too rich mixture.

-> Check spark plug "face", airfilter, carb- swimmer, idle air-mixture screw, needle position... main jet..

Hallo,
it could be the mixture as Anselm says.
I 've had nearly the same symptoms on my 25/2 (x Years ago), that was a faulty ignition coil.
The coil  also getting older (like us) and lost power (like Heiko).
When it is too old.... it only has the power for "just enough" sparks, especially at idle.
If you test the coil... all ok, it sparks and so on...but getting warm(er) it lost a bit of it's too little power and then you have your symtoms.
I (!) would check the mixture
and then change the coil (and the condenser)

@Rolf;

Hallo

Thanks for your answer.

I thought it was strange that it only did it when the engine is warm, but now i understand why it could be the ignition coil.

A to rich mixture, is that to much gasolin or to much air?

I have a R67/2 too, and it cant start when i have been out driving and the engine is warm, i suppose it also could be a defect ignition coil??

Look at the prices!
Too rich= too much gasoline ;D
For your 67/2  applies for the same (including Condenser)
Especially the coil for the twins are sensitive (and expensive)
Rolf P(oor, too much air)

what rolf wanted to point out in "pidscheng"-english:

rich - you have plenty of fuel,
poor - the only thing you have is the air to breathe.

So, don't think about it - it's just like real life...

Ehrlich gesagt vermisse ich Heiko's Aufschrei, er wird doch nicht krank sein?

Hello
I have adjustet the idle air mixture screw, so the mixture wasn´t so rich and it works!!

At idle it is much much better now, and it only makes a few misfires.

Thanks for your good answers
