This described as an R2 ??? actually a 1929-30, R16 sold yesterday at an auction in Birmingham, that was for Jewellery Watches etc, would you believe?
It went for £26.000 ( euro 29.500 )
I does need a 'bit of work'
A fully restored R16 from a famous collection sold about 5 years ago for £50.000 ( €56.800 )
Have a look in your shed under the rubbish at the rear

try this on
Lot 418
this is fuckin' unglaublich. And I have the funny feeling it went to someone without the required technical brains, but with lots of money instead. Like my bros in SA with tons of black money in their pockets and suddenly, like an overnight miracle, the money is clean. The buyer will certainly find a specialist to bring it back to life in a doubtful "original" condition and will put it then into his living room as a piece of art. Congrats!
I am also Archivist for the BMW Owners Club UK&I, and whenever I see, earlier BMW's, or even post war, 50's - 60's, I usually make enquiries in the right quarters of Southern Germany for information. This I put on file, with the idea, that one day these may come my way. With regards the R2 !!! That has happened.
