Doing restauration on my R 26 engine, i had a idea that my timing was out of place. The fly wheel had some time in the past, been lose on the crank shaft, so i was not sure that the timing was in the right place.
Well i have learn from a old BMW mechanic hove to check the timing without dismantling any thing on the engine.

1. find the overlap on the engine, the point were both Exhaust and Inlet valve is open also known as the wrong TDC point :-)
2. now you should be able to notice both the S mark and the OT mark in your inspection window.

I have made a small video on the topic please dont mind my bad spoken english, im a little rusty :-)
