A question regarding the proper matching of the little "W" number on the speedometer face to a final drive ratio. Not just for singles but is there a list somewhere on the forum that provides the suitable pairings that left the factory?
Thanks...Kurt
Hello Kurt.
You may want to have a look at http://monos.r25-bike.de/#tacho_EN ,resp. http://monos.r25-bike.de/#hagetriebe_EN ..and please keep in mind that the values for W are valid for km/h speedos, mph would need to be calculated from there....
Kind regards, Taz
Hi Kurt
I found additional information for MPH speedometers for my R26 here.

I have the BMW VMCA article but was looking for something more from BMW. Someone has mentioned using a speedometer with 0.715 but I haven't seen that listed on any publications.
Kurt
Once you know the ratio then get Guenter to make one up for you. ulrikewiha@web.de
That's what I did for mine as the mph speedo for my R26 is unobtainable.

I was hoping to find a relatively correct listing of speedometer and final drive ratios listed for future reference.
Kurt
There is only one W ratio that will match the final drive and MPH spectrometers are rare for the singles and it was far more cost effective to get a spare KPH speedo altered.
I hope this helps

Thanks, Brian. In full disclosure, someone said they had a 0.715 KPH speedo and he wants to use it for an R69S. I have yet to find this ratio listed. That was why I was looking for more official documentation. I'm not sure if this person wants to or needs to send the speedo off for overhaul.
