Goodmorning everyone. The connecting rod of r25 / 2 is not perforated for the lubrication of the pin. I would like to practice a hole; it is convenient to do it 3 mm or what size do you recommend. Thank you

Anto

Hallo,
The rod is lubricated by the centrifuge in front of the crankshaft from inside. There is no hole recommendet. But its nessecary that the centrifuge and the hole inside the pin is clean.

Moin Anto,
i believe, you are thinking about the bushing at the small bore at the conrod.
I made a photo from a R26-conrod.
The bore is 3,2mm. R26 has a 20mm-pin.
Just making the pic, i detect, my bushing has moved, a small side of the bore is visible, at the left side.
So i drill 3,2mm again and do not try to move the bushing again.
Thank you for asking.

Hi Mek, I do not understand why your bush has moved the first time. Anto

Hi Anto,
the bushing will be hammered for long time running. I think, i'm the second owner, so that bushing is BMW-build from 1957.
The outer diameter will decrease some µm, so it ist not a fault idea, to look for a replacement. The motorspecialists will do that, at least they will fit it to to piston-pin. Drilling a 3,2 or 3mm mm bore, is a work for yourself.
