Hello Everyone!

Can anyone tell me how thick a new clutch friction disc should be and when to throw away? Mine is 4.82mm and looks thin to me. For some reason I cannot find a spec. in my manual :-[.

Thanks
Garnet

Hi Garnet,

where did you measure, at the inner radius of the lining or the edge? The discs are normally thinner at the edge (greater wear).

Nevertheless i think your plate is nearly new:
The new lining (Belag?) is 2,0 mm and surely can be used until 1,0 mm.
The thickness of the metal sheet of the body varies. Older/original: 1,0 mm, newer and "aftermarket": 1,5 and even 2,0 mm

Because of the conical wear, you can not change solely the friction plate, you have at least to change the "Pressure Ring" too, better also the "Pressure Plate".

Therefore it is better to use the friction disc as long as possible.

Hi Anselm

I was measuring from the outside of the disc so it looks like mine is good. When I was pricing one from Hugget I saw 5.0 mm in the description.

Thanks
