R27 vs R25/3 Charging Systems

Hello all,

Are the charging systems the same between the R27 and the R25/3? I know they are both 6V, and use a generator but I do not know if the wiring is the same between them. I'm asking because a friend of mine has an R27 with charging issues and he wants to compare it to my R25/3. We both have solid state regulators installed.

Aside from the regulator location is everything else the same between these 2 bikes?

Hallo,
the wiring of the r27 has no resistor....its resistor is placed on the regulator (Z-Regulator)....the 25/3 has a resistor inside the wiring.
If you use an electronic regulator....it doesn't matter (then you have to use no resistance at all).

Thanks, I will have a look at his bike and probably post some pics of his wiring.

I will likely start a new thread for his issue if I cannot figure it out.
