Zitat von: BenW am 24 Februar 2014, 21:06:18you can throw a small spare battery (4.5Ah, 6V) in your saddle bags.

Interesting!  I'm not using saddlebags with my single...any more weight and I'll barely be above walking speeds!   :kopfhau:

I've had a lot of luck with the Blitz battery 6v (going on four years now). No issues and fits perfectly where it should. I went to the Blitz for the same reason - venting.

On my boxers I use the Odyssey dry cell made by EnerSys. Not sure if they make a 6v.

They do. Search for EnerSys Cyclon E-cell 6V 8.0Ah, part #0859-0012.

Note that the Cyclon battery is too large for the R25x, but it perfectly fits the R26/R27 battery compartment.

Hello! I have a BMW R26 and i'm interest to put it up a new lighter flywheel like Renners http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=758304

What is your opinion? Will be appreciable difference to the engine power?
There is a possibility to cause problem to the Engine?

Hello Manifesto,

There's not going to be any difference in engine power with a lighter flywheel. The only difference you will see is the engine revving up a little faster, allowing for faster up- and downshifting. However, a lighter flywheel will inevitably have a negative impact on idling at slow revs. I would thus avoid lightening your flywheel unless you intend to race your bike.

BTW, the mod shown in the thread quoted is called a "cucumber slicer" (Gurkenhobel) in German... ;)

Cheers
BenW

Here it is Scott, just as I bought it.
I still have one or two things to sort out yet. The petcock is not original and the fitting on the tank has been 'doctored' and needs replacing so that a new correct petcock can be fitted. The machine was allegedly 'fully restored' but that remains to be seen.

Since my last post I've fabricated a new rack from some metal scraps and fitted it to carry the new Craven top box. Pictures shown below.

R25/3 + R65LS. The R27 has found a new home.
I was not lost, my GPS just found a different way back.
