Cylinder for R27 ?

Hello Everybody,

I have tried to fill-in a " GESUCHE" but something went wrong so I put my question in this section...sorry.

I rebored my R27 cylinder ( buyed at ebay) at diameter 70,00 and still have a black spot somewhere in the middle of the working surface, so I know it is for the scrapyard.
I am looking for a good and undamaged R27 cylinder that can de rebored at least two times. Can anyone find me one?

heisst das das da nicht genügend gehont wurde weil da eine (Rost?)Vertiefung ist?
Wenn ja, wie tief?
Wie groß (durchmesser)
wenn Tiefe im hunderstel Bereich.... würde mich nicht kratzen.

Hi,
The black spot is in the middle of the piston's working area and is about 25mm x 7mm. I can only feel with my finger that it is deep- to deep, perhaps  0,3-0,4.
As to the solution with a bush; I think it is more expensive then a second hand cylinder and I have my thoughts
about this solution. First, one have to find a cylinder lining to have the correct material and what about the heat transfert from piston to cylinder if this is not perfect there most be hot spots.

In order to avoid advanced technical solutions and costs my idea was to simply replace the cylinder and buy a new piston. It would be sad to spent a new € 125 piston.
I live in Belgium and it is impossible to find second hand stuff, that is why I ask around. I suppose that in the trade in Germany there are good second hand things to find.

I hope I can find something,

@odeon8; ist das auf dem Bild an dem Ölröhrchen ein Gummiring und gehört der da hin?

NEIN - lass´ Dich bitte nicht von meine Spezialumbauten irritieren.
Den Ring habe ich da rein"designt", weil der Zylinderflansch durch den Autozylinder
extrem schmal geworden ist und ich das Teil sonst nie dicht bekommen hätte.
Für den Ring ist eine spezielle Ausfräsung erforderlich und auch eine öl-/temperaturfeste
Gummimischung.
Die beiden großen Ringe sind zur Abdichtung des Ringkanals erforderlich, der über 2
Bohrungen die Kolbenlaufbahn zusätzlich schmiert.
Diese Zusatz"ölung" wurde aus dem Automotor übernommen.

Aber erst mal Kardinal werden, sonst wird das nichts; wobei das war ja erst gestern mit den Rothüten. Also doch noch warten.

Hi everybody,

I finally found a cylinder in nearly new condition with bore diameter 68... and undamaged.
Forget about the 30- 50 Euro, its a lot more... but it's worth every Euro.

Does anybody have experience with the correct piston to bore clearance with the new KS pistons from Stemler
0,04...  0,05 or even 0,06
Or is there something better on the market?

Hallo,

doch die neuen Kolben von KS sind gut. Gut verarbeitet, moderne super maßhaltige Kolbenringe (1. hartverchromt) und eine exzellente Kolbenbolzenpassung ("flutscht" mit Daumendruck, egal ob warm oder kalt).

Das Kolbeneinbauspiel variiert etwas von Modell zu Modell und ist immer oben auf dem Kolbenboden eingeschlagen (piston to bore clearance is always printed on the piston):

Auf dem Kolben steht -meine ich- nur das Maß (z.B. 68,45)

Die Werte aus dem WHB würde ich nicht nehmen.
Das nötige Spiel steht auf dem kolben (z,B. 0.06), der kolben ist danach gefertigt, die Zylinder werden auf das eigentliche 8runde) Maß gefertigt ( eben 69.00mm, das Spiel kommt durch den Kolbendurchmesser . Also ein 69.00 kolben mit dem angegebenen Spiel von 0.06 ist in Wirklichkeit nur 68,94mm "dick".
Es gibt aber auch kolben die benötigen nur 0.05mm etc, hängt also vom Kolben ab, ist aber, wie gesagt; eingeschlagen.
Ich würde dem Motorenbauer aber immer beides geben, der wird das aus dem FF kennen 8wenn nicht, fluchtartig die Bude verlassen).
Wenn man ein bißchen Angst vor Klemmern hat kann man  das Spiel ruhig 0.01mm größer wählen (also Zylinder auf 69,01mm honen lassen).
Ich glaube Uli macht das ausschleifen selber, frag nach. Es ist am besten alles in einer hand zu lassen (spätestens bei reklamationen bist du sonst zwischen baum und Borke).
Wenn du die möglichkeit hast, messe es zuhause nochmal nach, mache ich immer (war auch schon 2mal nötig, das war konisch gehont worden)
