Success!

Unfortunately my /3 did not have any keys when I bought it and I wanted to remove the steering lock without destroying it.

After reading this guide, I fashioned lockpicks out of hacksaw blades and the whole operation took about ten minutes.

Pre removal - the cover plate came out with a gentle tap.

Steering lock removed, the screw is seen here in the "fitted" position, on removal the lock is turned anti-clockwise rotating the screw to the twelve o'clock position.

Hacksaw bladed fashioned into lock picks. All Australians are criminals :)

Good luck, Dave.

PS: Could someone post a picture of an original key or suggest where a blank could be bought?

Thanks in advance, Dave.
