Garnet Grylls

Good Morning to All,

I have managed to put 300km on my bike over the last few weeks. After a very cold ride I mounted a 40 x 50 cm windscreen to help block the wind. I trimmed it so that it fits down most of the way around the headlight trim ring and slants back at a 45 deg. angle. I have not taken any pictures because it looks too modern and ugly :-[.

It does block some wind and I find that now I can run easily at 100 km. Before it seemed to be working to get to that speed. Yesterday while overtaking a car I was up to 110 and still had throttle left. (Heiko will have to start looking in his mirror :D)

I was going to cut this windscreen down to a shape that better suits the bike, but am also thinking of a 1/4 fairing like the R90S or this: http://www.bellacorse.com/bcc056.htm or maybe this one: http://omarsdtr.com/fairings.html

Does anyone have a picture of an einzylinder with a small sport fairing?

Hi Garnet,

wellcome to the UPS (Upper Power Section) of our Forum  ;D

I see you think the same as i do: Beyond 20 Horsepowers an adequate
fairing is a MUST !

Look at mine:

Hi Garnet,

finally you managed to reveal Heiko's Sekret:

He has no air resistance (no weight either)! And therefore can go this Speed without fairing.

Dachrinnen für sein Windschild??????????
An der R26+R27 oder R75/5?????
Wahrscheinlich stellt er die Dinger senkrecht in die Höhe, wie Orgelpfeifen.
darauf könnte man dichten:
Wer fährt denn da durch die Natur?
Der Heiko mit seinen Pfeifen nur......

:juhuu: Nine posts in German here just might give me the chance to ask some silly questions in the other forums!

(Joking of course).

I have a similar dilemma as Garnet as I'm trying to decide to fit blinkers to my /3 (1954)...will it take the "look" away?

- Dave.

Heiko

Morning gents,

oh, you are right Dave, sorry  :-\\ , this is the english board... we will stop this german nonsens now  ;)

Yes, it will change the "look", but it´s on your own what you are doing... if YOU like it,
it is okay.

Hello Dave,

why not.
Have a look at Holger's slightly modernized R25/3:

Heiko: We mono-language types are lucky to have this little place, please continue in any language at any time :respekt:

Rütz: I'm leaning towards the blinkers on the handlebars, in Australia drivers have become very ignorant to most things and getting them to watch out for hand signals might be dangerous for me! Thanks for the link.

Garnet: Sorry for the hijack.

Dave.

Karibu mgeni, nakupenda Dave! ;D

Oh...what kind of language is this Rolf?

Could you please translate it???  ???

Best regards (and excuse my terrible english, please!)

Mein lieber Mann, das gleitet ja ab, ob dave das bedacht hat? ;D

Garnet Grylls

Hey Dave,

In my view functional blinkers overide "correctnes". I have often seen people looking across the street to see what I am pointing at when I put my arm out to turn left ::).

rolf

Garnet,
you have hat better use the whole hand, not only one finger! ;D
Otherwise, in former times (when my friends don't know me exactly, the always want to turn left (or right) when I want to show something to my wife on the "Sozius"(in former times my girlfriend, I don't know if it is in english the same joke:" früher waren wir Freunde, jetzt sind wir verheiratet")

Garnet Grylls

Rolf....

I only use one finger to signal another driver that he is number one :-* with me. 8)
