I've got some problems with the mounting of the exhaust (pipe from head to muffler).

What have i done. Bought new pipe, bracket and clamp.

Installed bracket to the gearbox, installed clamp to pipe and fitted pipe to head. So far so good. But when I mount the pipe/ clamp to the bracket it touches the footrest.
I need to use a spacer of about 26mm long to make sure the pipe isn't touching the footrest.

What went wrong? If i look on the internet and search for pictures of the clamp and bracket all look the same appart from the fact that they do not touch the footrest.

the footrest is ajustable.
Important is, that you fix the exaust from head-thread to the muffler, at last the bracket clamp.

I know how to fit it and that the footrest is adjustable.

Footrest at highest posistion and still it touches.

But I think I have solved the problem. Looks like they have sold me a bracket for a R25/3 and not for a R26 as I had ordered. (R26 bracket ends on 43. R25/3 bracket ends on 42).

Will go back with it next weekend and will compare those 2 brackets.

Hi Roy,
do we have a comparison between those 2 different brackets in our Vergleichsliste ?
If not, can you create this to store at this list ?

unfortunately is the difference of the bracket not visable in the vergleichliste/ ET liste.

I will compare those 2 brackets next weekend and make some pictures of it. (looks like the R26 bracket gives more clearance between frame and bracket).

Hello brain

Looks like the same problem. So first you had a bracket for the r25/3? And after that a bracket for the r26?

What is the exact difference between those 2 brackets?

bwprice100

I thought that at first but the bracket I had was for a 26.
I could not get to the bottom of why the bracket on the pipe would not meet the bracket on the engine so made a spacer to fill the gap.
The footrest does not go as low as would like but I am planning to make an adapter so I can lower the footrest and the gear lever. The problem with having long legs.

Thank you. Looks like the clamp on the pipe doesn't mach up with the bracket.

Think i'm going to modify the bracket so it looks original. Thanks for the pics.

Yes but the clamp is the correct one. I just put it down to one of life's mysteries. :)

Had a look into the older partsmanuals but it looks the've point to the same clamp.
I saw your post with the same question where someone tells it's the clamp

Roy B

Made my own bracket yesterday out of stainles steel.
Will post a picture tomorrow.
