Hello everybody,
I have been looking through the forum concerning my R26 from 1958.
She is in boxes at present but Iam itching to get going on the restoration.
I bought her with all the tinware painted in black with white stripe, which looks just great.
The problem is the pinstripe widths which look very wide, the outer is 5.5mm then a 3mm gap and the inner stripe 2.5mm.
Is this correct?
I have just completed my first restoration of an R60/5 which was so enjoyable I bought the R26.
I look forward to your comments and will post a couple of pics when I figure out how to do it.....

Hi Steve,
Morar?
I get a nervtogetherbreak (bad englisch for mental breakdown).
I remember the days in 2013.
The A830 and a bmw R25/3 stranded near Morar.

Please,
send my best wishes to the brave men from Morar Motors.

Hello Steve.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations - do you already have an idea about whether the bike is complete or whether you may be missing some parts?

Anyway...have fun with rebuilding that beauty and keep us posted...and if any questions arise, please don't hesitate to ask us.

All the best to Alba, Taz

Hello Steve.
Welcome to the Palace of Knowledge!
This is an extremely friendly and knowledgeable forum, I have had a lot of help on here.

I had a coach holiday based in Morar a few years ago when the 130 mph gales stopped all movement in the Highlands.
Zitat remember the days in 2013.
The A830 and a bmw R25/3 stranded near Morar
I also remember this experience in 2013. :schrauber:
R25/3 + R65LS. The R27 has found a new home.
I was not lost, my GPS just found a different way back.

Hi everybody
thanks for all your replies... They have been very helpful :)
The guy I bought the bike from has had the tinware painted and it looks like the pinstripes are not correct to the original.
This might be an expensive mistake for me as I wanted to make the bike as original as possible. :( :( :( :(
Iam missing quite a few bits as well and the shocks are knackered so new inserts will be required, where is the best place for the R26 parts, I have been using Ulis Motorradladen for my R60/5.
Very surprised to see a couple of members have been upto and through Morar as we are well off the beaten track.
I have attached a few pictures of the bits and my R60/5.

Not so much of a surprise if you would consider us being the kind of people that always likes to avoid a tollfree bridge when there's a cute little ferry available to getting to the Isle of Skye as well... which offers an extremely scenic access road as a bonus....the ride from Fort Williams to Mallaigh was simply stunning to say the least.

PS: thanks for sharing the pictures.....looks like you do have some work ahead of you but your garage seems to be extremely well equipped for all the challenges you may encounter on the way....

Hi all
WOW! you guys really do know this area, but I shouldn't be surprised as we have some of the finest biking roads in Europe.
:mopped: Never mind the scenery.
The only problem is the weather and midge, it can be truly terrible. :( :(
I would really like some advice concerning the pin stripes, would you leave well alone or re-paint??
I will post a picture of the stripes so you can take a look.
Thanks again
