Hey

This video says it all. Please watch.

So the problem is the motor fires up easily and runs well when cold, but the problems like in the video emerge after a minute or two and only get worse as the motor warms up.

Ignition has new components (spark plug, spark plug wire, battery, ignition coil, ignition points). Tested with other components, too - no effect.
Timing and gap are set with multimeter and timing light according to owners manual.

What's wrong here?  ::)

This one should fit the original mount on the breaker point plate and - big advantage: screwed connection !
So no risk of burning up the capacitor while soldering the wire. Capacity is also adequate.

Also available on Ebay - search for "Zündkondensator Simson"

Thank you for your answers. I'll change the capacitor once more, then. I changed it last year, but the part was also used.
I'll see how it effects the ignition and report back.

And after that check the ignition coil.
Maybe it`s the old Problem, cold  :bike:; hot:  :kopfhau:
For testing use an 6V-igintion coil, maybe something like that: Lucas
For testing you only need a ignition coil in used but proofed condition.

I had the Same symptoms with a broken ignition coil. I'd replace it with an other one.

i think : first, check the connections, screwing and soldering.

I see no reason to change ign-coil, capacitor.

Another possible issue came into my mind.
1 minute might be approx. the time it takes to empty the floater chamber on the carb.
Reason enough to check the fuel flow - petcock, floater, floaterneedle, needleclip fitting in the needlegrove, needlevalve.....
Symptoms in your video could be due to lack of fuel at reving.
Does your carb spill frequently after dabbing the floater-knob ?
Was this behaviour the reason for replacing all the ignition components ?
What else has been maintained shortly before ?
Did it ever run OK ?

Sascha

The problem was the condenser / capacitor. Changed it - made a huge positive difference. Everything runs nice and smooth as should, thank you for your advices. Cheap 3,5€ fix  :schrauber:
