Hello

Im new to this forum.

I wants to sandblast my cylinder and cylinder head of my R25. I know that sandblasting does not effect metal, but isn´t it neccesary to protect the indside of the cylinder, and the valve seating from the sand??

Thanks in advance

Hallo Newby,
even glass-pearl blasting would effect metal.
I would only take glass-pearls for blasting.
The head could blasted without protection..but with valve covers (to prevent extreme blasting the valve-guides)....but afterwards completely dismantled and cleaned. It makes sense , because at this time you have to regrind the valve-seats. they are not destroyed from blasting... after every dismantling it is senseful to do this job.
The cylinder must be covered at the piston boring. Take "Tesa-Krepp" and on this thick grease.

Hallo

I have read some of the text in Instandsetzungsanleitung at this site, so yes I would regrind the valve seats afterwards.

Tesa-Krepp and grease sounds good and easy to do!

Thanks for the anwers
